“All businesses in the Bay Area should think outside their norm and consider hiring individuals with disabilities” says Mario Salvatore Lopez, the General Manager at Embassy Suites by Hilton in Walnut Creek. He has hired four individuals with disabilities with the help of Contra Costa ARC’s Project SEARCH program, a collaboration with HireAble. The process was easy and added immense value to their staff. Contra Costa ARC provided pre-screened candidates and hands-on training and support for interns and employees. When employees are hired, Contra Costa ARC also provides long-term onsite job coaches who help ensure employees maintain success throughout their careers. Mario added that they did not need to invest additional time or money into training, and the presence of our new hires makes their workplace more joyous and optimistic.
